Skylight installation brings natural light into your home while maintaining a watertight roofing system. Our installers begin by locating the ideal position from inside the attic, working between existing trusses and rafters to avoid structural modifications. We measure and cut through the roof deck sheathing and shingles, then frame a structural curb to support the skylight unit.
The skylight is set into the curb and its flange sealed to the roof deck. Ice-and-water shield wraps the entire perimeter for a redundant waterproof barrier. Step flashing and counter-flashing on all four sides integrate the skylight into the existing shingle field, with each course properly overlapped. Inside, we insulate around the light shaft to prevent condensation and heat loss, then finish the interior trim. Every skylight installation is verified watertight from the attic side and meets local building code requirements for egress and energy performance.
